In this clip we measure the temperature on the hand while smoking a cigarette. In addition we also measured blood pressure and heart rate.
During this experiment the temperature on the hand dropped by nearly one degree, the heart rate increased and the blood pressure increased. The temperature was measured with an LM35 precision temperature sensor.
For the heart rate detection we used both the data from the ECG and from the pulse oxymeter to see which one provides a better reading. See this page for the description of the pulse oxymeter. The heart rate extracted from the ECG gives a very dense plot and the variation due to breathing is clearly visible. The pulse oxymeter seems to discard many readings and also averages over time.
next: Blood pressure.
